2013 Team Pitching Coach - Pitch Calling
General Information
Coaches, improve your team’s runs against numbers immediately. For the 16th year, Tom Besser will run classes for “Team Pitching Coaches” in one (3 hour) block of instruction. He has coached 4 college teams from D1 through Junior College, from Head Coach to Pitching Coach. He has also coached pitchers at Women’s Professional level. As a pitch caller, he has called over 250 college games. He has trained over 4000 pitchers and over 300 college pitchers, coached 30 All American Pitchers / Catcher selections, coached 100+ All State HS Pitchers in (NJ, PA, DE & NY) in last 12 years.
Who will be trained-
Any Team Coach (Head Coach, Asst Coach, Pitching Coach, or Parent) desiring to be trained in the science of pitch calling and the art of managing pitchers & catchers. Coaches will be placed in groups of 5 coaches. Travel coaches will be grouped by age div. where possible. (Note HS & College Coaches may request separate classes).
What will be trained-
Recruiting & evaluating pitchers, pitch calling, pitch calling communications, managing pitchers, training the battery (pitchers/catchers), organizing communication and signals, evaluating hitters, setting defenses (training the integrated defense), using (velocity, movement & location) and more.
Where will training take place-
12 Mallard Drive, Tabernacle, NJ 08088 is generally located in central Burlington County. Major roads in the area are Rts. 206 & 70.
From Route 206- Turn east on Route 532 at the light. Approx. one mile plus you will come to the 4 way stop at Carranza Rd. Go straight ½ block to Nixon's "General Store" on the left. Turn left at New Rd and see the two schools. Once past the schools turn left on Mallard Drive. It is a one block long street; we are last house on the left. Park at the end of the circle near the flag. Go to the gate to the right of the house and enter the back yard through the arch. Follow the walk around and out towards the pool. The pitching bays are behind the pool house.
From Route 70- Turn south on New Rd at the light at approx. the 20-mile marker. Stay on New Rd until you hit Mallard Drive 2.3 miles on the right. Then see the directions above for more info.The
When will training take place-
This class will take place on April 1, 2013 at 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
